Thank you for your response, I have not logged in for quite sometime but had already found the whatley clinic in Vernon, Alabama.  They also have a clinic in many other rural areas.  Their main clinic is in Tuscaloosa and they have a dental clinic there.   They see their patients on the sliding fee process. This is at least better than paying a physician or a dentist full cost!!!!!  They treat the patients with dignity also!!  some of the best medical care I have ever received!!  Fantastic staff always ready to help you.  they even got my costly medications I use for maintenance drugs through a program that sends them to the doctors office and all I have to do is go pick them up... all for free!!!

Desparatedebrh,

Go to the main Links page at www.ncmpact.com to find your state's dental society and inquire about help available. You will also find other resources that will help.

DeeNeecy,

There IS help in Alabama. Please go to www.ncmpact.com. First use the Patients tab to find the patients link page. Here you will find information to help you locate a school close to you. You can also use the main Links page to find the dental society in your state. This organization will be able to direct you to free clinics.

Any other questions, feel free to email at cassieminor@ncmpact.com

I've got great news for you, Gailie. NC MPACT and NC Missions of Mercy (NCMOM) to the rescue.

First, NCMOM holds free clinic events throughout NC. We will be in Wilmington May 1 & 2 2009 and the entire schedule can be retrieved at www.ncmissionsofmercy.org via the schedule tab.

Second, please go to www.ncmpact.com We are a NC organization that works to provide resources and care for those in need.

Please keep in touch so I may know how things work out for you. I'd be happy to help you along the way.

By the way...the fees you quoted are a fantastic value (usually 150-400). Dentistry is expensive.

Is there any help in the Raleigh, NC area for dental work for someone who is in his late 50's, unemployed and has no dental insurance???????  Every place we have called charges anywhere from $80 to $250 per tooth to extract them.  That is outrageous!  The health dept. does not do that anymore, so we are stuck between a rock & a hard place.

I am sorry to hear of your sisters situation . It is , sadly , a story that I have heard over and over in one way or another. There are so many people contacting me personally for assistance with dental challenges that I have had to cut down how many people that I help personally . If you look at the resources on all 5 dental pages , that should at least get you started in the right direction.

Yes , people have been helped by my dental Aidpages. Unfortunately , only the most thoughtful will write and tell me their outcome. If you have any success with any of the dental information , please let me know.

My sister Patty is 50 years old and in need of free dental help.  She has been terrified of dentists all her life.  When we were young we had a horrible dentist.  He would start drilling and hit a nerve.  When we jumped because of the pain he would scream at us not to move.  I don't think she's been back to a dentist since.  Some of her teeth have already fallen out and the ones that are left look terrible.  She worked all her life until her teeth started falling out now she can't get a job.  Insurance was way too expensive but her daughter offered to pay for it.  She finally has insurance.  Here's the kicker.  She finally agreed to go to a dentist. My father took her to his dentist who is very aware of her fear of dentists.  After taking x-rays and doing an examination he gave her an estimate for pulling the teeth and dentures.  $21,000 is the expensive way. $18,000 is the cheap way.  Her insurance covers $1,000 dollars a year.  What a joke.

She has difficulty eating and has lost alot of weight.  I am worried one of these teeth will get infected and she will die.  She needs help now.  Has anyone found help on this web-site?  She lives in Tacoma Washington.   Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

i am 24 years old and live in louisiana. i am pregnant and am on medicaid.  they do help with alot but due to financial situations i have neglected my teeth. i am told to have a healthy baby i must have healthy teeth and gums.  i have went to my first denist appt only to leave in tears. i am trying to see if there is any assistance for the other 8,000 dollars i need to acomplish this.i do work and make good money but with all my bills and saving to be able to take my 6weeks off after i have the baby, money is very tight. i think i make to much money for free dental assistance but not enough to be able to cover it. if anyone can offer any help i would greatly appreciate it. the procedures are not cosmetic they are medical, to ensure a healthy, full-term baby being born.    thanks so much

Hi I am a 44 year old single mom, I have been looking for help now for 3 years, I am disabled due to sever Asthma and other lung Problems. I do have state insurance, however they do not cover dental. I need to have all my teeth removed due to the med's and my health,Most of My teeth have been breaking off at the gums for 2 years now. My doctor even gave me a note saying I really need to have this done, and it needs to be done more then likely at the hospital. however I can not afford to pay for this and my insurance don't cover it. at this point, I am always sick. I really think that most of my health problems are due to my teeth. I keep looking for ways to get this done, as much as I would love to have dentures, I would be happy just to get these teethe all out.  I live in Westminster MD. any info on how I can fine help would be very appreciated.

Hi shelraeg

It just isn't fair that someone who works for a non-profit , giving their time to help others , doesn't get the benefit of care themselves. I will be working on the dental pages the next couple of days , so I will see what I can find.

Hi Sarah3

There isn't a page for South Carolina yet because I haven't found anything for that state yet. I will add a page for SC as soon as I find something. I am currently working on the dental pages , so maybe in the next few days. No promises , but I will see what I can find.

As you know , it is very hard to find dental assistance in any state at the moment. It is such a sad thing that our government sends millions of dollars to help people outside of our country , but leaves those of us who are hurting in the states without help.

I am seeking free/low cost dental for myself and my son in rural southern nevada. I am about 90 miles outside of Vegas and live in a town that has a new dentist who charged me $400 to get one of my sons teeth pulled since I worked for a nonprofit that didn't have affordable insurance much less any dental insurance.

With everything else that is going on in my life, just getting some work done on my teeth would help my esteem. Our family genetically has bad gums. My mom never took me to the dentist but 2 times my entire life probably because she never had dental insurance and like her, I will need dentures in the next year or so just to eat.

ANY information would be appreciated! THANK YOU!
